Ankor Wat

Ankor Wat
Deep in the dense forest and soar skyward, the beauty and magnificence of the Angkor temple complex are unrivalled and always cast a spell on visitors. Known as the world’s largest religious monument, Angkor Wat, literally meaning the temple that is a city, is divided into three levels featuring a five towered temple in the middle shaped like a lotus bud, intricate bas reliefs,  and carvings of more than 3000 apsaras. Unlike other Angkor temples, this temple faces the west, the direction of death. It is believed that Angkor Wat is served both as a temple dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu and a mausoleum of Suryavarman II, the King who initiated the construction. The Angkor Wat is regarded the zenith of Khmer architecture.
