Temple Wat Phou (UNESCO Heritage)
Wat Phou is an early classical Khmer architecture, dating from the 7th to 12th centuries AD. The temple was dedicated to Shiva, one of Hindu Gods. Nowadays, Wat Phou has been an active temple for Buddhist religious practice because Buddhism replaced Hinduism in Laos in the mid of 13th century. The temple has listed on UNESCO’s world heritage sites in 2001. It was constructed using sandstone, laterite and bricks.
