Arriving in Vietnam

Tan Son Nhat Airport of Ho Chi Minh city and Noi Bai Airport  of Hanoi are the main arrival terminal for foreign visitors coming into Vietnam.

Arriving in Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh Airport: Tan Son Nhat Airport is 7km northwest of central Ho Chi Minh city.  A taxi to central districts costs around 100,000d and takes around 30 minutes. However, be aware that taxi drivers will probably recommend you a “good and cheap hotel”, and deliver you there so that they can earn a commission. The problem is that when you ask a taxi driver to take you to a place, the driver may tell you the hotel is closed, broken, is dirty and dangerous, or anything else they can think of to steer you somewhere else. Besides, you should check with the driver whether the trip will be metered or a set fee (which can be as high as US$10 to the city centre). Therefore, make sure that you go with a trustworthy reputable taxi. Another way to travel from the airport to the centre is by air-conditioned bus (Route 152) which cost 5000d. The bus is available every 15 minutes, from 6.am to 6.pm; takes you about 40 minutes to enter the centre.

- Hanoi Airport: Noi Bai Airport is about 35km north of the city.  The trip to the central districts takes 45 minutes to an hour, along a fast modern highway. A taxi to the centre may cost 300,000d and also be aware of cheater taxi drivers as mentioned above. Otherwise, you can take Vietnam Airlines mini-bus to centre which costs US$3 and is available at every 30 minutes. Besides, you can travel with buses: Route 17 public bus from airport to Long Bien bus station (near Old Quarter) costs 9000d. Route 07 from airport to Cau Giay bus station (20 minutes drive to the centre) costs 8000d.

The best option is to choose airport transfer included in our Vietnam tour packages because your trip will be worry-free with our private tour guide, experienced driver and well-maintained good condition car.
