Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, welcome by our guide and transfer to hotel for check in. Located on the right bank of the Red River, Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital with a thousand year old history is considered one of the most charming cities of Asia its fascinating beauty is the blend of shadowed boulevards, elegant French colonial architectures, numerous sacred pagodas, tree-fringed lakes and amazing cuisine besides the hustle and bustle of the country’s second largest city.

If time permits (depending on your arrival flight), take a Cyclo tour through Hanoi’s downtown to sightsee the Old Quarter of 36 ancient streets, the Trang Tien Plaza shopping center, the colonial French-built Opera House, an elegant architectural landmark of Hanoi modeled after the Palais Garnier opera house. Enjoy the famous Vietnamese traditional art of water puppetry at Thang Long Theatre.

Morning, start a city tour beginning with Ho Chi Minh Complex which features the life of Ho Chi Minh, the nation’s founder. At the complex, visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum where the nation’s founder’s body is preserved (closed on Monday, Friday and through October - November), the colonial Presidential Palace, originally the French Governor Office and a fine example of French architecture in Hanoi, and the rural style Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked. Stop by one of Hanoi’s icons, the One Pillar Pagoda, built in the 11th Century in dedication to Avalokiteshvara or Buddha of Compassion and reminiscent of a lotus blossom rising from a pond. Continue to the Temple of Literature, known as the first university of Vietnam built in 1070 by the Ly Dynasty to honor Confucius, sages and outstanding Vietnamese scholars.

Afternoon, come to the West Lake, the largest lake of Hanoi and visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda of Hanoi, built in the 6th Century and located on an islet in the lake. Walk around Hanoi Old Quarter and stop at Dong Xuan market, Hang Duong “Candy” street, Hang Dao “Clothes” streets, Hang Gai “Silk” street, St.Josepgh Cathedral and visit an antique Vietnamese-style house at 87 Ma May Street. End the tour by relaxing over a cup of coffee at a rooftop café and enjoying the full panoramic view of the legendary Hoan Kiem Lake (The Returned Sword Lake whose name comes from a legend of a sacred sword) at sunset. Morning, you meet our guide then private transfer to your hotel in Sapa on the new highway. Check in your hotel after 5-hour driving.

After hotel check-in, start a sightseeing tour beginning with a minority village named Cat Cat to observe minority villagers colorfully dressed indigo tunics, leggings, elaborate pleated skirts, and sliver-studded jackets. Interact these minorities and learn about their unique lifestyle, which has not much changed despite the long passage of time. You will also enjoy a mountain minority traditional dance show here. Next, follow a winding dirt trail by a mountain and enjoy spectacular scenery while trekking along a narrow river until you reach Y Linh Ho village, home of the Black H'mong minority group. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Get back to Sapa town and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Morning, transfer Southward to Muong Hoa valley which is the largest paddy terrace in Sapa area. Our guide will provide you with interesting information about the processes of rice growing. A visit to the valley between May and October will give you a chance to observe locals either planting a new crop or harvesting an old one. Take a walk from Lao Chai village of Black H'mong minority to Ta Van village of Giay minority and come back to town to visit its Catholic Church.

Afternoon, drive to Silver Waterfall (to be best visited in the rainy season from May to November), take a walk by the fall and enjoy great views of the surrounding jungle-covered mountains of the Hoang Lien National Park. Our guide will explain about this special part of Sapa, where a lot of plum and peach trees are grown. Continue by car 10 about minutes up to Heaven's Gate (Cổng Trời), the region’s vantage point which offers a full view of Fansipan Mountain known as “the roof of Indochina” rising 3,143 meters into the sky. Move on to the 2,000-meter high Ham Rong Mountain for a close look by its foot before coming back to town.

Morning pickup at 8:00 AM from your hotel for transfer to Halong Bay, which is about 160 km or 3.5-hour drive away. On the way, you will see some rural areas of the Red River Delta with plenty of chances to take photos of Vietnamese farmers working in paddy fields. Stop half way to visit a handicraft workshop of fine clothes and embroidered paintings. Arrive in Halong City at 11:30 AM and check in aboard the booked junk right after the welcome drink is served. Start cruising while having lunch on board and enjoy the mighty bay view. Halong Bay meaning Descending Dragon Bay in Vietnamese as legend has it that it was where a holly dragon landed down from sky. The bay, famous as one of the world’s wonders and heritage sites whose formation dates back 500 million years, consists of around 2,000 karst islands and islets scattered over an area of 1,553 km2. The bay cruise will continue with up close sighting of Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Sail Island, a visit to Sung Sot Cave and swimming stop at Titov Beach. Relax to enjoy the bay view at sunset, have dinner after, go fishing at 09:00 PM and spend a night on board.

Morning, take a sightseeing tour of Hue City beginning with Hue Citadel, a well-known UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site which is a 520 ha fortress-like grand complex built in the early 1800s and featuring three enclosures separated by heavy ramparts namely Kinh Thanh Hue (Civic City) as the outer, Hoang Thanh (Royal City) as the middle and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden City) as the inner. The tomb shows a vivid European influence in architecture despite its Asian style. Stop by Dong Ba market, the city’s traditional commercial center, for shopping.

Afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Perfume River for sightseeing and visiting two prominent historical landmarks namely Minh Mang Tomb, where Minh Mang, the 2nd Emperor of the Nguyen dynasty was buried, and Thien Mu Pagoda, a Buddhist monastery still in use with its origin dating back to 1601. Later afternoon, come back in town to take part in a kite-flying contest in front of Hue Citadel’s main entrance also known as Ngo Mon (the Noon Gate). Kite flying is a traditional festivity art and also a favorite pastime of inhabitants of Hue. You will be provided with a kite and instruction how to maneuver it with tactics of keeping it in balance in the sky by a handling string. It will be a special experience to fly your own kite up high in the sky in front of the old Citadel.

Morning, transfer to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass (Ocean Cloud Pass). Afternoon, take a town tour of Hoi An to see its beauty up close. Included for your sightseeing will be the town’s iconic 400-year-old Covered Bridge with a small temple attached to one side as a prominent example of Japanese architecture, the Museum of Trade Ceramics which is an elegant Vietnamese style wooden house built in 1858 showcasing antique ceramic artifacts, the 200-year-old Tan Ky House typifying an ancient Chinese merchant residence, the Ong Temple built in 1653 by Chinese settlers to worship Guan Yu, an ancient Chinese general whose character stands for loyalty, bravery and justice. Enjoy strolling the small streets of antique low tile-roofed houses, which reflect the town’s multi-cultural past.

Morning, transfer about 40 km West of Hoi An to visit My Son Sanctuary, another UNESCO-recognized world heritage which was once a religious center of Cham people where royal ceremonies and burials were performed. It is regarded one of the foremost Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia and is often compared with other temple heritages of Southeast Asia such as Angkor in Cambodia, Ayuthaya in Thailand or Borobudur in Java.

Visit the Po Nagar Temple, which is a vestige of the ancient Cham Empire before the 17th Century, the Oceanography Institute, which showcases the local marine life’s diversity and the Hon Chong Promontory, which offers a unique seascape with the boulder-stacked shore. Long Son Pagoda - was first built on Mount Trai Thuy in 1886 and named Dang Long Pagoda. End the tour with a visit to Dam market which is the commercial center for local businesses and shopper.

Afternoon, on the return to the city, stop to discover the Cu Chi Tunnels which was once a major underground hideout and resistance base of Viet Cong forces during the two wars against the French and later on Americands. The tunnels, entirely hand-dug, formed a highly intricate network of interlinked multilevel passageways at times stretched as far as the Cambodian border and totaling over 120 km in length. Its complexity was beyond imagination containing meeting rooms, kitchens, wells, clinics, schools, depots, trenches and emergency exits all aimed for guerrilla warfare. The tunnels were deep and strong enough to withstand destructive bombings and self-contained enough to outlast prolonged sieges. Back to Ho Chi Minh City.
