At the 3143 meters elevation, Mount Fansipan is dubbed as the Roof of Indochina and become an attractive challenge for adventure lovers. After a hard trek to the summit, you will be awarded not only the absolute victory feeling but also a breathtaking panoramic view of natural scenes of cloud-shrouded mountains. This trip also offers a great walk through hill tribes and plunging valley of Muong Hoa which boasts one of the most incredible rice terraces fields of the world. It’s simply the best!
Itinerary Day by Day

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, welcome by our guide and transfer to hotel for check in. Located on the right bank of the Red River, Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital with a thousand year old history is considered one of the most charming cities of Asia its fascinating beauty is the blend of shadowed boulevards, elegant French colonial architectures, numerous sacred pagodas, tree-fringed lakes and amazing cuisine besides the hustle and bustle of the country’s second largest city.

Morning breakfast at hotel and then our car will pick you at meeting point (12 Ly Thai To street or Ha Noi Old Quarter) then depart to Sapa following Noi Bai – Lao Cai high way.

Along the way, you will have chance to contemplate the beauty of the northwest mountains that terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog. We will have a short break in 30 minutes then continue the trip to Sapa.


Arrival Sapa – bus station, our guide will pick you up and then transfer you to the National Road 4D to Tram Ton Park gate along the highest pass in Vietnam – Tram Ton Pass located at 2100m above the sea level (17 km by car). Visit Silver waterfall before reaching the pass. Start the trip to conquer the roof of Vietnam and Indochina – Fansipan peak. Spend your time enjoying marvelous nature and then start the strenuous trek to the peak. From Tram Ton Pass we will start our climb at 1950 meters above sea level. After four hours of trekking we will stop for lunch beside a small peaceful stream. In the afternoon we continue our climb to the altitude of 2800 meters where we prepare our diner and set up camp with tents provided.

08h30: Breakfast at the camp and then continue climbing to the summit by way of pine and yellow bamboo forests. After 4 hours, you will successfully conquer the roof of Vietnam. Spend 1/2 or 1 hour enjoying the splendid landscapes from around the mountain, at this virginal roof of Vietnam and Indochina is a specious chance for you to enjoy watching the surroundings: to the North-West is small village areas belonging to Lai Chau province, the splendid rolling mountains; to the North East is the overall picture of Sapa town which is only seen from here. Have lunch and then return down to Tram Ton Park gate then take private transfer back to Sapa (12 km by car). Lunch and check in hotel. Rest on the rest of the day in a nice room with modern facilities after some previous hard climbing days. Free at your own discovery in Sapa town by night.

Early morning, you are free at leisure and then meet our guide and visit Muong Hoa valley, trekking from Lao Chai village, a Black Hmong ethnic minority village to Ta Van village where the Giay ethnic minority hill tribe lives. Here you will be able to rest and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by your guide in a local house. After taking a rest nearby Muong Hoa River to refresh, you start climbing uphill to a road where the car is ready for your journey back to Sapa, bus station and then back Ha Noi.

Arrival Ha Noi, you check in hotel and free at leisure.

Meals: Breakfast.

Travel about 2 hours by car from Lao Cai town to Coc Ly market located between imposing mountains and the Chay River. Convening weekly on Tuesday morning, the market attracts traders and market goers from various ethnic groups in surrounding villages. Stroll through the lively market to observe merchandise on display and people bargaining for purchase. Depart the market and take a boat trip to Na Nen village, home to a community of Flowery Hmong people who is named after the flowery decorative patterns on their clothing. Continue by trekking 3 km to Trung Do village, a settlement of the Tay ethnic minority people and stop here for lunch at a Tay household. Take another boat trip about 45 minutes down the Chay river and enjoying sighting the riverbank landscapes. Arrive in Bao Nhai village where you will be picked up and go by car to Sa Pa.

Meet our guide at hotel and transfer to visit Tay Phuong Pagoda which was built in the 17th century, and is very famous for the 18 statues of La Han coated with lacquer paint. After that we visit Thay Pagoda which was first built in 11 century. This one is located at the foot of Thaymountain and has a neat setting and Thay Pagoda, alias Thien PhucTu Pagoda, was built in the 11th century during the reign of King Ly Nhan Tong. At first, it was a small pagoda managed by Priest Tu Dao Hanh. The pagoda was initially built according to Sino-Vietnamese character Tam - this character is formed by 3 hyphens parallel to each other.

Morning, arrive at a house on stilts in Van Long Natural Reserve to get a bicycle. Cycle on single-lane roads about 7km through hamlets and stopping along the way to visit temples, pagodas, communal houses and countryside markets. Upon reaching CauVang hamlet (Golden Bridge) in GiaHoa commune, join local farmers in some of their activities such as catching crabs, fishing, transplanting paddy seedlings and bailing water into the paddy field. Return to the house on stilts where a local cook will show you how to cook a lunch the rural style from simple ingredients. Lunch at the house.
Afternoon, cycle on rural roadsthrough waterlogged fields to Van Long lagoon, the main highlight of the natural reserve.Take a small bamboo boat to cruise around and enjoy the scenic views of towering mountains, vast expanse of water and flocks of bird. Wildlife rich, Van Long is home to a many species of migratory birds and a wide variety of animals including those rare and endangered like the Delacour’slangur. The reserve is an ideal bird-watching place where you may sight white storks, herons, spoonbills, pygmy geese and crakes. After boating, get back to the house on stilts to end this tour.
