Learn more about local handicraft productions or walk across the world's longest teakwood break of U Bein. Be overwhelmed in the ancient capital of Bagan with more than 2,000 Buddhist temples that rival Cambodia's Angkor Wat or get lost in vibrant floating markets, floating gardens and stilted houses on the calm waters of Inle Lake. Explore the extensive Pindaya caves to take a horse cart ride through ancient ruins in Ava. Itinerary Day by Day

On arrival at the Yangon international airport, welcome by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel for check in. The former capital Yangon is the largest city and the most important commercial hub in Myanmar. Dinner will be on own account. Overnight in Yangon.

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Yangon's Central Station. Embark on the local circular train, which runs from the main railway station around various neighborhoods as well as the city's borders. Observe the daily activities of local people while riding at a deliberately slow pace on this circular train. (Please take note that the trains are very simple and used my many locals daily).

Disembark at Insein station and explore the Insein market filled with various stalls of colourful fruits, vegetables and merchandise. Then, you’ll return by car to the city to visit Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, a 70 meter long reclining Buddha statue around the size of a blue whale.

This afternoon, visit to the Royal Lake surrounded by the 110-acre Kandawgyi Park. Afterwards, continue to visit the 2,600 years old Shwedagon Pagoda, a golden mystery rising out of the horizon and transforms itself to an impressive wonder especially at sunset. You will start at the eastern staircase where you will find the shops selling various religious items and other unique objects. Upon reaching at the main platform, witness the colors transform on the 100-meter pagoda which is literally covered with over 60 tons of gold leaf. After sunset, head to China town to visit the colorful Khen Hock Keong Chinese Temple and the lively night market. Then, you will return to the hotel where you will stay overnight. Lunch and dinner will be on own account.

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Nyaung U (Bagan). Featuring more than 2000 red brick temples scattering on a plain of the size of Manhattan Island, Bagan is known to be one of the greatest architectural sites in Asia.

Upon arrival, start your sightseeing in Bagan with a visit to the renowned Shwezigon Pagoda which is the prototype of later Myanmar stupas. Continue your visit to Kyansittha U Min, Htilominlo Temple and Gubyaukgyi Temple. Also visit to Manuha Temple built in 1059, and Nan Phaya which has been built in the 11th century by the Mon King Manuha. Then move on to the workshops of lacquer wares and wood crafts to learn about the local production. Transfer back to your hotel for refreshment.


In the afternoon, drive to the jetty and board on a private boat along the majestic Ayarwaddy River towards Kyaukgu U Min. Enjoy the fabulous scenes of local lives on the water while cruising. Stop to explore a riverside village and observe the lives of the residents there before reaching Kyaukgu U Min, built during the 13th century for the locals to hide from the invading Mongols according to the legend. After your exploration, a combination of a relaxing cruise and car will take you back to the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be on your own account. Overnight in Bagan.

OPTION: HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE OVER BAGAN
Your glorious morning will start with an exciting hot-air balloon ride over this ancient city of Bagan. You will enjoy an exotic view when the sun begins to rise over the Ayarwaddy River. (Only available from October to March)

Today, you will investigate the settlement of Nyaung U and neighboring villages. Start with a visit to the vibrant Nyaung U Market, the busy market in New Bagan with great opportunities of photographing and mingling with the locals, watching how they earn their daily lives. Then explore a local village nearby, and if you wish, continue to the lesser-known temples and monuments in the area for the remainder of the morning.


In the afternoon, you will visit to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece constructed in "Mon" style, which is certainly one of Bagan's most wonderful temples. From here, you will continue by a horse cart for an excursion to Oak Kyaung Monastery decorated with multi-colour mural paintings, Thatbyinnyu which is the tallest temple in Bagan, gigantic Dhammayangyi Temple noted for its remarkable brickwork and of course, Sulamani Temple. Proceed to Shwesantaw Pagoda to enjoy the breath-taking sunset over the Ayarwaddy River and the various temples from the upper terrace of the temple. Lunch and dinner will be on own account. Overnight in Bagan.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Mandalay, Myanmar’s last royal capital. Upon arrival, welcome by your guide and drive to the ancient capital of Amarapura, “City of Immortality”. Observe the lunch process of a thousand monks who will take their last meal of the day at 10:00 am at Managandayon monastery, a center for monastic study and strict religious discipline. Continue on foot or by car to the legendary U Bein Bridge, the world longest teakwood bridge. Proceed to visit Shwein Bin Monastery noted for its exquisite wood carvings of Buddha's Doctrine and Maha Muni Pagoda, one of the country's most honored Buddha Images, which was completely covered in gold leaves applied by male devotees every day. Proceed to your hotel for check in and take a break at midday. (Check in time is 14:00 and early check-in is subject to availability)

Afternoon visit Mandalay Hill and surroundings. First stop is Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, the pagoda of Great Marble Image and Kuthodaw Pagoda which is famous for its collection of 729 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist teachings. Then head to Shwe Kyaung, the Golden Monastery which is a remarkable structure for its extraordinary woodcarvings and Atumashi Monastery. Walk up to Mandalay Hill, rising 240 meter above the city to enjoy a panoramic sunset view over the Ayarwaddy River and the city sprawl. Transfer back to your hotel for overnight. Lunch and dinner will be on own account.

Morning, transfer to Mandalay jetty and embark on a private  boat trip for a relaxing hour cruise  to Mingun Pahtodawgyi Pagoda, an incomplete monument stupa on  the bank of  Ayarwaddy  River.  Walk through the dusty plain to visit Mingun Bell, the world's second largest ringing bell weighing at 90 tons. Continue to Myatheintan Pagoda, the best representative pagoda of the Universe. You will also visit to the small neighborhoods before returning to Mandalay by boat.

Afternoon, proceed to some of the craft workshops making gold leaf, tapestries, wood carvings or marionettes, following by an expedition to the previous capital of Ava. Cross the small river by a local ferry boat and travel in a traditional horse cart to the wooden Bagaya Monastery celebrated for its elaborate woodcarvings. Observe Nanmyit Watch Tower which is also known as the leaning tower of Ava and the impressive MahaAungmyayBonzan Oak Kyaung. Lunch and dinner will be on your own account. Overnight in Mandalay.

After breakfast, transfer to the Mandalay airport for a short flight to Heho. Upon arrival at the Heho airport, you will be transferred by car to Pindaya (59 km-2 hour), a quiet town in the heart of Shan State. En route, stop to enjoy the beautiful countryside and take some photos of these natural fields and Shan hills. Arrival, start your tour with the Pindaya’s local market. Continue to observe the production of tea leaf salad at a local village nearby. Then, return to the town and check in your hotel and take some rest at midday. (Check in time is 14:00 and early check in is subject to availability).

In the afternoon, visit to the well-known Pindaya caves, a distinctive site housing more than 9000 Buddha images made from alabaster, teak, marble, brick, and various shapes of lacquer. You will also stop before the entrance of the cave to witness the Shwe U Min Pagodas. Then, proceed to visit a parasol workshop and traditional Shan paper making industry. The remainder of the evening is at your leisure to soak up the atmosphere of this charming town. Lunch and dinner are on your own account.

After breakfast at your hotel, drive to Kalaw (60 km-2 hours). Founded as a hill station by the British civil servants, Kalaw is renowned for its fresh air, peaceful atmosphere and tree-lined streets, and the best trekking place. Stop on the way to look around at the Aung Ban wholesale market where you can find the seasonal vegetables and local produce for the distribution throughout the whole country.

Arrive in the town, admire the colonial old buildings, historic train station and the local monasteries. Visit to the legendry Hnee Phaya, a bamboo lacquer Buddha image before heading to Nyaung Shwe, located adjacent to Inle Lake. Upon reaching the edge of the lake, take a short tour around this charming Shan town. Visit to one of the tomato warehouse where the tomatoes are sorted and priced for sales. Also visit to some of the many monasteries and nunneries in the town. Then, a private motorboat will take you onto Inle Lake, one of Myanmar’s most fascinating sights. Lunch and dinner will be on your own account.

After breakfast at your hotel, visit to the colorful floating market which rotates its location between the villages in a 5-day schedule (the market is closed on dark moon and full moon days). Head out to the lake and observe the daily activities of the local leg-rowing fishermen and their floating gardens. You will also visit Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery with the decoration of gold gilded wooden Buddha images and numerous teak pillars and famous for its jumping cats in the past. Proceed to the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the most famous pagoda in the lake, which contains five sacred images of Buddha covered in gold leaf. You will also visit to some of the workshops making inconceivable woven items from lotus silk, cigar, blacksmiths and silver smiths. The day will come to a close with a return boat trip to your hotel for overnight. Lunch and dinner will be on your own account.

After enjoying your breakfast at hotel, a one-hour boat ride will take you to the Indein Pagoda Complex, where you will walk through the bamboo forests and enjoy an exciting view of over a thousand of pagodas and stupa ruins. Then, it's time to continue to visit Sae Ma village. You will trek under the shade of the bamboo grooves for about 45 minutes. Upon arrival at the village, observe the daily life styles of the residents. On your boat ride back, you will stop at an Intha Heritage House to learn more about the local culture and history of the lake and its indigenous people. As an exciting day comes to close, transfer back to your hotel for some relaxation. Lunch and dinner on own account

After breakfast, check out hotel. A combination of boat and car will take you to the Heho airport for your flight back to Yangon. Upon arrival, drive to the downtown and witness the colonial buildings such as Immanuel Baptist Church built in 1830, High Court Building and Myanmar's Port Authority Building. You will also see the magnificent Strand Hotel, the Customs House and the Law Court while walking along the Strand road. Proceed your walking up onto Sule Pagoda which is a downtown's symbol, Independence Monument and Mahabandoola Garden. After rotating the City Hall, explore the gold shops along the Shwebontha Street and glimpse at the Moseh Yeshua Synagogue from outside.

Afternoon, continue to visit Bogyoke Market also known as Scott Market, where you can find the extensive collection of traditional crafts and souvenirs (the market is closed on Mondays and public holidays). Afterwards, drive to Botataung pagoda, relics excavated from the treasure chamber was re-enshrined and enjoy the splendid sunset over Yangon River at the Botataung jetty. Transfer back to your hotel. Lunch and dinner will be on your own account.
